Meet Alison W

Hey, I’m Alison!

I am a qualified teacher, teaching for 10 years in primary schools. I tutor English, Maths and Science at Key Stage 1 & 2, and Maths at Key Stage 3. I have taught students in Reception to Year 6, including year 6 SATS preparation and administering SATs. I also home educate my two children.

I love working with children and I enjoy making a difference. Tutoring 1:1 enables me to focus on the individual child, identifying their strengths and areas to develop or extend.

My teaching style is engaging, fun and interactive with lots of opportunities to build up skills and apply their knowledge in different ways.

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I have a B.Ed. Honours from Bradford and Ilkley Community College where I completed my 4 year degree, the affiliated university is Bradford University.
  • What’s in your fridge? Dairy free milk and cheese alternatives. Also a Peppa Pig cool pack for bumped heads!
  • What are your hobbies? I enjoy stand-up paddle boarding, playing the piano, and walking in the countryside with my children and dog.
  • What is a fun fact about you? I taught in an English language preschool in Prague for a year. They met me at the airport with a large cuddly bumble bee!
