Meet Amy

Hey, I’m Amy!

I enjoy tutoring children in all subjects, especially Maths, and tutor primary-aged students (and up to Year 9 for Maths). I love seeing those ‘penny drop’ moments.

I really like to have fun when tutoring and incorporate games whenever I can. My sessions are full of laughter and smiles.

I personally know how hard it can be to struggle academically; I took more years than most to complete my degree, but I think this helps me to help others.

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I completed my PGCE at the University of the West of England. I have had a range of experiences in teaching – over the past four years, I have worked as a LKS2 class teacher and a supply teacher in KS1 and KS2.
  • What’s in your fridge? Cheese and strawberries (not to eat together, although strawberries and warm milk on my cereal in winter is delicious!)
  • What are your hobbies? I enjoy sewing – I’m currently in the middle of a large project of Disney characters ready for my child’s bedroom. I also enjoy building Lego, especially the Harry Potter sets, and I love the 3 in 1 creator sets too!
  • What is a fun fact about you? In my spare time, I volunteer on a heritage railway in a variety of roles, from serving refreshments to firing the steam engines. I really enjoy talking to passengers and passing on my knowledge about the railway and the surrounding areas.
