Meet Molly

Hey, I’m Molly!

I’m an English tutor, specialising in primary, Key Stage 3 and GCSE English!

I am a creative, highly skilled and empathetic teacher of English, with exceptional subject knowledge and particular proficiency in spelling, grammar and punctuation. I have a genuine passion for my subject, a keen interest in promoting literacy and encouraging children to become lifelong readers, and a deep commitment to inspiring all learners to achieve and grow.

I believe that when it comes to education, one size does not always fit all! I understand that different children learn in different ways, and that all children have individual interests, strengths and talents which are unique to them; I therefore tailor my teaching style in order to give every child a positive, enriching and empowering learning experience.

“Reading gives you superpowers!”

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I’m a qualified teacher, and have previously studied for a a BA in English Literature at the University of Westminster in London, and then later a PGCE. I have worked as a classroom English teacher at secondary level and also as a specialised Learning Support Assistant at primary level.
  • What’s in your fridge? Oat milk, extra-mature cheddar, fruit smoothies, fresh veggies, blueberries, Hello Fresh meals, and a bunch of other random stuff (I’m a vegetarian!)
  • What are your hobbies? Reading (lately I’ve been re-reading Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson a lot), writing, gardening, baking, nature walks, playing video games (my favourite is Mario Kart), and going on adventures with my son.
  • What is a fun fact about you? When I was a kid, I had a rattlesnake as a pet (sort of!). I lived in the Southwestern desert in Arizona and my grandpa was a wildlife conservationist, so we were rehabilitating an injured rattlesnake until we could re-release it into the wild.
