Meet Willow

Hey, I’m Willow!

I tutor English and Maths from Year 3 all the way up to Year 11.

I truly believe that education can enhance the way someone perceives and contributes to the world. I tutor to help students find that same passion for education that has been passed down to me through my own teachers and tutors, and to help them gain confidence. I believe having a tutor can really make or break a student’s love for a certain subject, and help them to get those crucial grades to move onto Sixth Form and University.

During our tutoring sessions, I like to work on topics together, and then provide access to a bank of resources where students can challenge themselves in their own time beyond their homework, should they decide that they need that extra help  (or just something to do!) I also like to make my lessons creative and relatable, as enjoying the lesson is a big part of learning!

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I am currently a student at the University of Bolton, where I am studying Psychology. I am specialising in Educational Psychology, which helps me better understand students and be a better tutor.
  • What’s in your fridge? I always have soya milk, as well as an abundance of fruit and vegetables since I love making food from scratch and being creative with my recipes! Occasionally, I do treat myself to a dessert too!
  • What are your hobbies? I have lots of hobbies, which makes it difficult to ever be bored! My main hobby is creating digital artworks – I like to create characters for stories that I write, as well as illustrations of other people’s characters! I also really like to write poetry and watch documentaries to learn about things I might not usually discover in my usual day-to-day life.
  • What is a fun fact about you? I won a writing competition in secondary school and ended up having my short story published when I was just 13!
