Meet Yasmin

Hey, I’m Yasmin!

I tutor maths to all ages, having previously tutored it from KS2 right up to A-level as well as tutoring for the Professional Skills tests for teachers and the maths section of the tests for Nursing. I am currently focusing on tutoring maths to GCSE and A-level.

I believe everyone should have the chance to achieve and everyone has the ability to be great at maths. Tutoring allows that ability to be unlocked where sometimes it might not be within a larger class setting. Maths is the most amazing subject and helping people to discover it doesn’t have to be something they hate or are bad is wonderful.

I graduated from Warwick with a first class honours degree in Mathematics and subsequently completed my PGCE in Mathematics at Warwick also. Since then, I have taught in secondary school from Year 7 to Year 13 and am now teaching Year 3 in a local primary school. I have been tutoring for the last 4 years and have taught students from age 7 up to 50+.

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your style of tutoring? I offer relaxed tutoring sessions where the focus is on understanding and building confidence and firm foundations that will lead to a secure maths knowledge. Every student has the potential to be great and it is my job to help them achieve it.
  • What’s in your fridge?  A selection of fruit (strawberries are my favourite!) and far too many carrots.
  • What are your hobbies?  I love sport, indoor climbing is a favourite of mine at the moment as well as netball and skiing. You also can’t beat a good book and when I find the time I love drawing or painting.
  • What is a fun fact about you? I used to be a ski instructor!
