Meet Hayley

Hey, I’m Hayley!

I tutor primary-aged children from Year 1 to Year 6 in Maths and English.

Working with children is my passion and I have been a primary school teacher for 7 years. I believe that all children have the ability to reach their full potential and that learning can always be fun!

I have a flexible approach to tutoring as children learn in lots of different ways! One way of teaching will not suit everybody and I really enjoy being creative and tailoring the best approach to each individual child.

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I studied teaching at the University of Plymouth. I have worked as a teaching assistant, supporting children with lots of different needs, and am currently a class teacher. I have experience teaching children across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2, and am heavily involved in preparing children for the phonics screening and Key Stage 1 SATs.
  • What’s in your fridge? Lots of fruits and vegetables (watermelon is my favourite!) and a couple of KitKats (I’m not sure why, but I think they taste so much better cold!)
  • What are your hobbies? I have been learning Spanish for a few years and am really enjoying it. I have 3 dogs (Luna, Bear and Link), so I love finding lots of new and exciting places to walk with them!
  • What is a fun fact about you? I am a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do! I enjoy martial arts as they are such a fun way to keep fit.
