Meet Louise

Hey, I’m Louise!

I tutor primary students and some Year 7s, teaching them Phonics, Reading, Writing and Maths.

I love teaching and helping children to explore their understanding of knowledge and realising that THEY worked it out. Watching a child’s confidence grow is one of the most exciting parts of the job. I meet many children who are reluctant to even think about learning so it is incredible to try different styles to find the way to make the child have a fresh excitement towards learning.

My style is very relaxed and interactive. I like to work as a team with the children and their families so we can work on their needs and celebrate their strengths. I like to incorporate the interests of the child so they become engaged and encouraged by their own growth.

And some other important questions…

  • What’s your background? I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Northampton followed by a degree in Primary Education with QTS from the University of Southampton. I taught in the classroom for ten years, including Speech and Language Provision. I have tutored online for nearly two years now and I am not looking back!
  • What’s in your fridge? Chocolate and Greek yoghourt (not to be eaten at the same time).
  • What are your hobbies? My main hobbies are having a cup of tea with friends, taking my children to the beach and taking my dog for an explore.
  • What is a fun fact about you? I once accidentally walked in on a Strictly Come Dancing rehearsal.
